Morning, envoys (at least, it is here in Ohio; about 6:30AM). We did it! Monsters is funded, and then some!
I'm pretty amazed at how this campaign performed, actually; our previous Chill sourcebook, SAVE: The Eternal Society, took a lot longer to reach its goal and didn't perform as well overall (I mean, we still funded and the end project is damn solid, don't get me wrong, but I much prefer hitting the goal in three days rather than three weeks!). We've got 428 backers and that means we've unlocked four free cases. We also overshot our goal by a whopping $5000, which means you'll get a total of 15 write-ups like the gargoyle one I posted. I'm still not entirely decided on what that last one will be, but I'll keep you posted.
So what now? I'm still in the process of writing the book; the goal is to have it done by the end of January, which will give us time to have Morgan edit it before it goes over to Thomas for layout. My immediate priority, I think, is writing the comic script for Leonard so he has as much time as possible to illustrate it. I also need to coordinate with the folks who pledged for SAVE Recruiter, Witness, and Field Agent levels to get their material straightened out. And, of course, there are four Regional Coordinators that I need to wrangle - I've got some games to plan!
Just at the moment, however, I'm raising a cup (of coffee) to you, the backers, and taking a moment to again say thank you for continuing to support Chill. There are more awesome things coming. Stay alert, envoys. SAVE is on your side.
Happy Halloween!

Greetings, envoys! As of now, we're just over $17,000, which makes this a really awesome day for the Kickstarter!
I just got back from trick-or-treating with my kids a couple of hours ago, and the numbers have really gone up since then. We've surpassed 400 backers, meaning that we've unlocked Rob Wieland's free case. We've also crested $17,000, which means not only did we unlock the chimera at $16,000, but I need to decide on one more creature to add!
It's getting late, and I work early in the morning, so I'll do another update bright and early tomorrow before I go to work when I see what the grand total is. But I wanted to put up what has become a traditional picture for Chill 3rd Edition Kickstarters:
By the way, my daughter played in her first game of Chill a couple of months ago, and has been asking to play again recently. I think she might take after her father with regards to horror. :)
We've got about 80 minutes left in the Kickstarter, and we're at 427 backers. So I'll tell ya what: We make it to 450, and I'll throw in that last free case (by Danielle Lauzon), even if we don't quite hit 500. Know some friends? Let 'em know that time is running short!
And as always, thank you for your support of Chill!
The Doppelganger is here!

Last night I went to bed really pumped after running my first-ever playtest of Growling Door's new game, Np (still very much in the early stages), and still about $100 from the doppelganger.
I woke up still pumped about said game, and now even more pumped because we've cracked $15,000! That means I get to write about doppelgangers in Monsters.
We're about 40 hours from the end of the Kickstarter as of now. I'd love to finish strong and break $16,000 (or more!), but honestly, at this point what I'd like even more is to hit 400 backers and give you kind folks another free case. So, maybe one more share or bump for us on the social media platform or forum of your choice, and let's drag these monsters out into the sunlight for all to see!
As always, thank you for your support.
Monsters Excerpt!

Greetings, envoys! As we move into the final days of the Monsters Kickstarter, I'd like to share an excerpt from the text. You can read it by clicking here (that's a pdf, just so you know).
Now, obviously this isn't the final layout; the creature stat blocks are going to go in one chapter and the longer write-ups with the sample cases are going in their own section. Also this text hasn't been edited yet, so if you see typos or mistakes, that's why.
But this excerpt will give you a sense of how the book is going to look, how it's going to read, and what kinds of horrors you might find within.
We've only got $159 to go until our next stretch goal, and 49 backers until we unlocked our next case! Let's make it happen! #SAVEisonyourside
One More Week of Monsters

Greetings, envoys! The Monsters Kickstarter closes one week from today, just before midnight, EST, on Halloween. As you can see, we're already funded with two stretch goals met and three free cases unlocked - but wouldn't it be great to get a little more?
At present, we're 60 backers from our next free case (by Rob Wieland) and $365 from our next stretch goal (the doppelganger). With seven days to go, both of those are quite comfortably within our reach. So, give us a share on your favorite social media platform, tell your friends who might be interested in some classic horror gaming, and maybe set up a Halloween game of Chill!
